H

Lake Mburo National Park lies in the district of Kiruhuracovering 260 square kilometers (100 mi) of land in the western region of Uganda regarded as the smallest savannah park in the Uganda existing about 30 kilometers(19 mi) by road from Kampala established in 1933 but the Banyankole Bahima people kept on grazing their cattle in the then restricted hunting area beforeit was transformed into a game reserve in 1963 during Obote’s government as a means of weakening the Banyankole-Bahima people.

The Banyakole-Bahima people fought back to maintain control of their grazing ground though they were compensated with new land somewhere else which later led to the destruction of the park after Obote’s regime was defeated and Banyankole Bahima finally rgained their lost land in 1985 chasing away the park staff, destroying infrastructures and butchering the wildlife animals but later in 1986, the National Resistance Movement under the rule of President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni re-established less than half of the original area of the park.
