Bushenyi is a town in western Uganda and part of the larger Ankole sub region. It covers a total area of 942.3sq.km. Bushenyi is bordered by Rubirizi Ditrict to the northwest, Buhwenju district to the northeast, Sheema district to the east, Mitooma district to the west, Rukungiri district to the west that once made up the great Bushenyi district which was split up in 2010. It is enriched with natural resources and the economy depends largely on agriculture with production of crops like matooke, coffee, tea, beans, and also dairy and ranching for beef. Bushenyi is approximately 280.27km from Kampala capital city and this can take about 5-6 hours to reach your destination using the Mbarara – Bushenyi road.
