Entebbe town is located in the northern shore of Lake Victoria in Wakiso district. Entebbe was the capital city of Uganda before independence in 1962 and it is where the State house and residence of the president of the Republic of Uganda is found. It is the major gate way to Uganda because that’s where the Entebbe international airport is found served by many international airplane companies like Emirates, Brussels, Egypt Air, Fly Dubai, and South African Airways among others. It became popular in 1952 when Queen Elizabeth ii took her flight back to London after the sad news of her father’s death. Some of the tourist attractions in Entebbe are the Lake Victoria, Uganda Wildlife Education Centre (zoo) where one can catch a glimpse of Africa’s wildlife like lion, leopard, rhino, giraffe, zebra among others, Reptile village and Ngamba Island for chimpanzee tracking and various beaches to enjoy the hot sun with a cold breeze from the water. Entebbe is approximately 40km away from Kampala capital city which can take about 1 or 2 hours due to the hectic jam.
