GULU

Gulu is a town in the northern region on the border of Uganda and South Sudan covering a total area of 3452.1sq.km with a tropical wet and dry climate. Kampala a relative flat terrain covered by thick savannah grassland vegetation. The Victoria Nile separates Gulu and Masindi in the south, the Albert Nile separates it from the districts of Nebbi, Arua and Moyo in the west and River Achwa separates it from Kitgum district to the east. Some of the tourist attractions are Sir Samuel baker at Patiko, Amoro hot spring, Murchison falls national park, Karuma falls, Guruguru caves which were the hide outs during the Lamogi rebellions and the historical inter-clan wars among the Luo. Gulu is the biggest town in the northern region and an important business hub approximately 333km by road, north of Kampala capital city which will take about 6-7 hours.
