MASINDI

Masindi is a district in Bunyoro sub region, western Uganda. It is bordered by Nwoya district to the north, Kiryandongo to the east, Kyakwanzi to the south, Nakasongola and Nakaseke to the southeast, Hoima in the southwest and Buliisa to the northwest. Masindi covers a total area of 9,326sq.km and it boasts of Lake Albert, Murchison falls national park; Uganda’s oldest and largest conservation area, Budongo forest reserve; with the highest number of chimpanzees, Bugungu wildlife reserve, Masindi hotel, the king of Bunyoro palace. Masindi is approximately 220km, north west of Kampala which is about 3-4 hours via the Hoima – Masindi road.
