MBALE

Mbale is a town in Bugisu sub region, Eastern Uganda lying on the railway from Tororo to Pakwach. Mbale offers business and investment opportunities in Uganda like agricultural, educational, financial, public, health, military facilities. Mbale is a boda boda (bicycle) town with too many of them that they are licensed and issued with number plates and also well known for growing Bugisu Arabica coffee. Some of the tourist attractions in Mbale include Mount Elgon National Park situated on the border of Uganda and Kenya, Bulegeni and Butandinga cliffs found about 50km south east of Mbale town, Semei Kakungulu’s heritage site on the Mbale -  Soroti road, Bufumbo and Wanana forest reserve found at the ridge, Kakoro rock paintings, Mount Elgon with the largest caldera, the Mototo circumcision site, Bulukyele – Bukigai hills; a historical campsite dating to the colonial period, Simu and Sisi falls among others. Mount Elgon is situated on the border of Eastern Uganda and Western Kenya border with the largest and oldest volcano base in East Africa. Mbale is approximately 245km by road, northeast of Kampala capital city and 52km east away from Mount Elgon.
